  • The second part of your journey begins and ends in Beijing, and provides a great foundation of learning for your kids. Beijing, the capital city of China, functions as the country's political centre, cultural centre and international communication centre. This amazing city, regarded as one of the greatest ancient capitals has seen six Chinese ancient dynasties, spanning some 3,000 years. Beijing houses a great many historical attractions, among them, the Great Wall, the Summer Palace, the Temple of Heaven, the Forbidden City and the Tiananmen Square, all must see. Beijing’s has a unique charm in modern times embodied with splendid culture. Let’s take a look at some of the most amazing attractions of this city:

    The Temple of Heaven Park is in the Chongwen District, Beijing, covering an area of 2,700,000 square metres and is larger than the Forbidden City. Emperors of the Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644) and Qing Dynasty (1644 - 1911) held their Heaven Worship Ceremony at this temple. It is the largest existing masterpiece among China's ancient sacrificial buildings, initially built in 1420, the 18th year of the reign of Emperor Yongle of the Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644), 

    Prince Gong’s Mansion Beijing

    Prince Gong's Mansion is Beijing's largest and the best preserved Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) princely mansion and is located at Qianhai Xijie. This is an incredible example of ancient Chinese architecture with its cultural connotations. Constructed around 1777, it was originally the private residence of Heshen, a member of the imperial guard. Heshen lived in the era of the Qing Dynasty Emperor Qianlong (1736-1796) and was promoted to positions normally occupied by the most experienced officials, enabling him to acquire great wealth. Qianlong did nothing to curb Heshen's corruption but his successor, Emperor Jiaqing (1796-1820), had him executed and his property. The property was valued at over 800 million ounces of silver, and was confiscated.
